Co-hosted by Harvard University, Stanford University, and The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) representatives, the inaugural "Emerging Technologies and Future Talents" Joint Symposium was successfully held from May 8 to 10, 2025, at EdUHK's Tai Po campus. Over three days, leading scholars and industry experts from around the world engaged in keynote speeches, parallel sessions, and thematic discussions, exploring how cutting-edge technologies—such as artificial intelligence, extended reality, and machine learning—can be integrated into education, training, and talent development. As EdUHK's Chair Professor and President Lee Chi-Kin remarked, "This is not only a hybrid symposium combining online and offline engagement, but also a feast of wisdom and knowledge."
Building on the success and strong momentum of the first event, we cordially invite you to reconvene in May 2026 in the vibrant city of Hong Kong for the second edition. The Symposium will further examine how emerging technologies are reshaping the future of education and talent cultivation. It will convene leading scholars and practitioners from the fields of education, technology, media, law, and business to explore the intersections of AI with the humanities, the arts, entrepreneurship education, creative media production, and the legal dimensions of AI—sparking cross-disciplinary innovation and collaboration.
The program will feature a diverse range of platforms, including pre-conference workshops, thematic panels, poster presentations, and showcases by researchers, developers, and designers. Outstanding papers presented at the Symposium may be recommended for publishing by high-impact journals indexed in SCI, SSCI, or CSSCI. Exceptional design works may be selected for collaboration with EdUHK's technology and innovation centers to foster ongoing innovation and knowledge transfer.
